Cost: Free if you take one pro-bono case!

The Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program will present its 2012 Family Law Seminar on Friday, May 11, 2012 at South Texas College of Law. The event will be held at the Garrett-Townes Auditorium, 1303 San Jacinto, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The program will feature board certified family law attorneys and other expert family law specialists speaking on a variety of topics relevant to this area of law. The program is approved for 6.5 hours of MCLE credit, including 1 hour ethics credit.

The seminar is free to attorneys who volunteer to handle an HVLP case prior to the date of the seminar. Registrants who are currently providing pro bono legal services for an HVLP family law matter that was accepted after April 1, 2011 may also attend the seminar at no cost. Attorneys who do not wish to volunteer may attend the seminar by paying the $125 registration fee.

All attendees will receive a printed copy of the course at no charge.

The annual HVLP Family Law Seminar brings together attorneys with individuals who meet legal services program eligibility standards and who need legal representation. Attorneys who take these cases play an important role in ensuring equal access to the justice system.
